We have avoided film for a really long time. (We’re talking 6+ years.) It just became what everyone was doing, and we didn’t want to fall into a trap of being trendy. So, in a very hipster-esk way, we avoided it.

In these last few months, curiosity won out, and we’ve been occasionally shooting a roll. Some iamges turn out, others don’t; we’re using 50-ish year old cameras that were either a grandparent’s or “borrowed” from dad. So, with eyes part-open in anxiety, here is an un-trimmed roll of 24 images from a recent wedding at Leo Carrillo Ranch near San Diego, CA. We don’t like to spend too much time “tinkering” with the film, as that’s not what we’re there to do. But did feel like it’d be fun to capture a few images and see what would happen (in all their imperfect, out-of-focus, grainy, light-leak, overlapping, unpredictable glory.)

All taken with a manual everything camera, either of us picking up the camera as we pleased, with no light meter.

And for fun, here are a couple of non-films:
